Obon お盆 is a time to remember our ancestors and friends. In partnership with Mei & Kei Kimono-Ya, we’re hosting a workshop for all ages, genders, and skill levels to prepare for the upcoming festival season. Every summer, we dress in yukata 浴衣 (light cotton kimono) and gather for bon odori 盆踊り (bon dance).
COST: $10
This workshop will include a live demonstration by Allegra Soumei Matsuo Mossman and Chris Chieko Minn, a yukata lesson, a JCCH Gift Shop discount, and parking validation.

Yukatas and obis will not be provided. You are encouraged (but not required) to bring your own yukata and accessories for the "dress yourself" portion of the workshop. If you do not have a yukata set, you are welcome to check out the JCCH Gift Shop during shop hours. A limited selection of yukatas and accessories are available. The workshop coupon you will receive upon check-in is valid only on June 8, 2024.
